1. Introduction

Tandem, the website at https://tandem.dating (the "Site"), is owned and operated by Tandem Dating Ltd ("we," "us," or "our") and provides a service for organising blind double dates (collectively, the "Service").

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our Site and Service. By accessing or using Tandem, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Definitions

• "Service" refers to the https://tandem.dating website and all related services provided by Tandem Dating Ltd for the organisation of blind double dates.
• "You" or "User" refers to any person who accesses or uses the Service.
• "Content" refers to any text, images, videos, or other material shared through the Service.
• "Date Ticket" or "Ticket" refers to a purchasable item that entitles a User to participate in one (1) organised blind double date, subject to these Terms.

3. Accepting the Terms

By creating a Tandem account or purchasing a Date Ticket, you agree to be bound by:

• These Terms of Service
• Our Privacy Policy
• Any additional terms disclosed to you if you purchase specific features

If you do not accept and agree to be bound by all of the terms of this Agreement, please do not use the Service.

4. Eligibility and Registration

To use Tandem, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be legally permitted to use the Service in your jurisdiction.
• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Keep your account credentials secure and confidential.

5. Registering as a Pair

Users may purchase Date Tickets as an individual or as a pair. If you register or purchase on behalf of a pair (i.e., you and a friend):

• You confirm that you have explicit permission from your dating partner (your "+1") to represent them.
• You are responsible for ensuring your partner is at least 18 years old and has read and agreed to these Terms.
• You are jointly responsible for all actions and conduct of your pair during the use of the Service, including at the date event.

6. Date Tickets, Payments, and Service

a. Purchase of Tickets

To participate in a blind double date, you must purchase a Date Ticket in advance through the Site.

b. The Product

Your purchase of a Date Ticket entitles you to:

1. The organisation of one (1) blind double date by Tandem.
2. The opportunity to claim one (1) drink at the designated venue, subject to availability and the venue's terms.

c. Matching

As long as you hold a valid, unused Date Ticket and have selected a future date, we will attempt to match you (as an individual or a pair) with other users for a blind double date. A match is not guaranteed.

7. Refund and Cancellation Policy

a. After a Match is Made

We do not offer monetary refunds on Date Tickets after we have successfully made a match and reserved a table for your date.

b. Cancellation of a Date

In the event a scheduled date must be cancelled, we will determine the "offending party" (the user or pair who caused the cancellation) and the "non-offending parties."

• Offending Party: The user or pair who causes the cancellation (e.g., by cancelling, failing to show up) will forfeit their Date Ticket. They will not receive a refund or have their ticket restored.
• Non-Offending Parties: All other participants in the date who did not cause the cancellation will have their Date Ticket restored to their Tandem account. This ticket will be considered "unused" and can be applied to a future date.

c. Refunds for Unused Tickets

You may request a monetary refund for any unused Date Ticket in your account at any time. This includes tickets that were restored to your account after you were a non-offending party in a cancelled date.

• How to Request a Refund: To request a refund for an unused ticket, please log in to your account, navigate to https://tandem.dating/purchases, and follow the refund instructions.
• Processing: Refunds are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. It may take approximately 5 to 10 business days for the refund to appear on your original payment method.

8. Prohibited Activities

Users agree NOT to:

• Harass, discriminate against, or harm other users.
• Share explicit content.
• Use automated systems to scrape data from the Service.
• Create false or misleading profiles.
• Share other users' personal information without their explicit consent.
• Engage in any commercial or spam-related activities.
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations.

9. Content Rights and Responsibilities

• You retain ownership of your Content, but you grant Tandem a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, host, and display your Content for the purpose of operating and providing the Service.
• You are responsible for ensuring you have all necessary rights to share any Content you post.
• Tandem may review and remove any Content that, in our sole judgment, violates these Terms.

10. Privacy and Data Protection

We process personal data in accordance with UK data protection laws. Our Privacy Policy details how we collect, use, and protect your data.

11. Liability and Disclaimers

• Tandem does not conduct background checks on its users. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users.
• We provide the Service "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We are not liable for the conduct of any user or for any content posted by users. We are not liable for any issues arising at the date venue, including the service provided by the venue.
• Our liability to provide the Services is strictly limited to providing up-to-date and accurate information about an upcoming date on our website and on your user profile page at https://tandem.dating/hub.
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount paid by you for your Date Ticket, or to the extent permitted by UK law.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:

• Violations of these Terms.
• Harmful, illegal, or inappropriate behaviour.
• Extended periods of inactivity.
• Upon your request.

13. Dispute Resolution

• Users agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting Tandem first.
• Legal proceedings must be brought in the courts of England and Wales.
• You waive any right to participate in a class-action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against Tandem.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We may notify you of material changes via email or a notice on our Site. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
